The best ever “Premier Golf Eventof Anson County Chamber” was heldon Friday, April 19th at Twin ValleyCountry Club. With 46 teams bookedand many volunteers lined up, everyonewas prepared for a great tournament.With 175 players choosing their tee timeof 8:00am or 1:00pm, it was sure to be avery busy day for everyone. Theweather was overcast for the morningplayers but was unpredictable for theafternoon with rain storms approaching.The players were encouraged byChamber Director Lynn Edwards toplay quickly due to bad weather driftingin for later in the day.
This “Premier” Golf Event of AnsonCounty would not be as successfulwithout the support of our sponsors,volunteers and especially the golfers.Deepest thanks to our PresentingSponsors for this year, AnsonCommunity Hospital and CMCUnion. Special thanks also to Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Tyson, RefreshmentServices Inc., Waste Connections, R.A.Jefferies, and IGA of Wadesboro andalso a very special thanks to RussellSikes of Plank Road Realty for cookingall the chicken for us.

Winners: First place winners of thetournament were Wadesboro Tire andAuto, in at second was Tyson Team #2and coming in third was BB&T. Thewinner of the Split-the-Pot was ChrisHorne. “Although the storm hadentered our tourna-ment by lateafternoon, we wereable to get the balldrop event completedbut in the rain,”Edwards stated.Thank you to ChrisBaxley of Pee DeeElectric for operatingthe bucket truck againthis year for the balldrop event.
