The Anson County Chamber of Commerce held its 47th Annual Dinner Nov. 17 at the Lockhart-Taylor Center in Wadesboro. Elaine Scarborough, left, director of the Anson County Partnership for Children, and the ACPC were co-recipients of the 2009 W. Dunlap Covington Award for Community Service. Dr. Don Altieri, second from left, director of New Ventures Business Development, Inc., was awarded the Henry W. Little, III, Community Leadership Award for his multiple services to the community. Second from right, Anson County Sheriff Tommy Allen received an award as outgoing director. Allen served six years and was 2007 chairman.
