January 11 -- The Anson County TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY will meet at noon at the Lady Bug Restaurant, 1208 E. Caswell St., Wadesboro. The meeting is open to the public. African Dance Troupe and the New Hope Mass Choir Ansonia Theater, Wadesboro, NC. February 3 - Anson County Domestic Violence will hold its Annual BBQ Fundraiser at First Presbyterian Church in Wadesboro from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Plates $8, Sandwiches $3 & Quarter Bags $10. February 14th 11:00am-1:30pm at First Baptist Church 309 Lee Ave Wadesboro $6.00 per plate to the calendar. February 14 -- Wadesboro Civitan Club will hold a Sweetheart Dinner on Tuesday, February 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Welika Lake Fish Camp. Tickets are $30 per couple. February 24 -- The Anson County Early College students will perform a play titled “The Beverly Hillbillies" at 6:00pm at the Ansonia Theatre in Wadesboro. For more information and ticket price, contact the Arts Council at 704-694-4950. February 24 -- from 11:30 to 1:30 First Baptist Church Hot Dog Lunch for the Waterbury Mission Team. Cost will be $5.00 and will include 2 hot dogs and all the fixings. Eat in, take out, or delivery (8 orders minimum). February 25 -- Anson New Tech will host a Health Fair on Saturday, February 25th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be twenty topics, each with a free takeaway. February 26 -- The Anson County Writers' Club will hold its 23rd annual AWARDS CEREMONY for winners of the 2011 Contests in Prose and Poetry at 3:00 p.m. in the Little Theater at Hampton B. March 16 -- The fourth annual 4-H CLOVER CRAWL will be held at Twin Valley Country Club, Wadesboro. Tickets are $25 per person. Proceeds from the event will support ongoing 4-H programs in Anson County. The following sponsorships are available: $1,000 Emerald; $500 Gold; $250 Silver; $100 Bronze; and $50 Green. Sponsorship checks should be made payable to Anson County 4-H and mailed c/o Roshunda Blount, 4-H Agent, P.O. Box 633, Wadesboro, N.C., 28170. Sponsors are asked to respond by Friday, Feb. 24.
