Community Services

The Community Services Division Team oversees the annual Chamber Open Golf Tournament, the annual Membership Meeting and Banquet and events such as Business AFter Hours and Breakfast Before Business.


Marketing

The Marketing Committee leads efforts to promote Anson County's tourism, business and relocation prospects through a series of brochures, colorful postcards and a map insert describing bicycle trails throughout the county. Leadership Anson

The Leadership Anson Oversight Committee oversees the leadership development program – to include curriculum, field trips and fundraising. For more information, go to ansoncounty.org/la.html

Big-Game Hunt Tournament

The Big-Game Hunt Tournament Committee plans and implements the annual Big-Game Hunt Tournament – to include the publication of an informative program, corporate sponsorships, weigh-in activities and the tournament-closing hunters’ banquet. For more information, go to ansoncounty.org/trn.html

Membership

The Membership Division Team's primary function is the recruitment and retention of new Chamber members. It is overseen by the Executive Committee.


Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is made up of the Chamber’s chairman, vice chairman, treasurer, executive director, immediate past chairman, and the chairs of the Community Services and Membership divisions.


W. Dunlap Covington Award

Dana Maness presented the W. Dunlap Covington Award Award to Lynn Edwards at the Annual Meeting held Nov. 18, 2008.

The W. Dunlap Covington Award for Community Service was established in 1995 and is presented at the Chamber's annual Membership meeting and annual dinner in November. The award was established to honor Dunlap Covington, who was instrumental in organizing the Chamber in 1963, and who served as president for the organization's first four years.

Henry W. Little III
Community Leadership Award

Russell Sikes presented the Henry W. Little Award to Carli Little at the Annual Meeting held Nov. 18, 2008.

The Henry W. Little III Community Leadership Award was initiated in 2005 and was awarded posthumously to the Anson County business and community leader, who died in August 2005. The award will be presented annually to an individual or group that exemplifies Little's ideals and standards of service.
